1. Have a Morning Routine

It may seem like it wont have much impact. But believe me, having a morning routine is one of the most common habit that successful people follow. It helps you save time and you don’t require much effort in deciding what to do every morning. You can focus more on things that actually matter.
Morning Routine may involve things like-
- Making your bed
- Getting freshen up
- Preparing or having breakfast
- Making your outfits ready
2. Exercise at least 4-5 days a week

You must already be well aware of this habit that everyone should have. Exercising not only helps you stay fit, it makes you care for yourself and work towards a goal. It shows your determination towards self building and keeps you motivated.
Core benefits of exercises include-
- Burn Extra Calories that are stored in the body (Burns fat)
- Build some level of muscles so that you have an aesthetic body
- Body becomes fit and healthy
- Keeps you happy by releasing hormones
3. Sleep 7-8 hours daily

Regulating your sleep cycle, sleeping for certain hours per day helps your brain and body to restore to its best form. If you are not sleeping enough, or if you are sleeping more than what is needed, this may impact the other good habits that you follow. The other good habits like reading or exercising wont be beneficial if you are not sleeping and recovering enough.
4. Follow Pareto’s Principle

Following Pareto’s Principle or the 80/20 rule gives your life a new perspective and changes it significantly. It says that only 20 percent of the things you put your effort in, yields about 80% of the results.
This means that there are only few select things in your life that you should focus more on. These things ultimately will improve your life a lot. Wasting time on things that don’t have much impact on your life doesn’t make sense given that we have limited time each day.
5. Read Books

This is one of my favourite habit. One might wonder, how reading can have so much impact? It’s just good for gaining knowledge and nothing else. To answer this, I have written a separate blog post on 8 core benefits of reading. Please give it a read.
8 Core Benefits of Reading are –
- Stimulation of Mind (Mind Workout)
- Personal Development
- Knowledge
- Improved Focus and Concentration
- Stronger Analytical Abilities
- Sharper Memory
- Creativity
- Improves your vocabulary
6. Practice Deep Work

What exactly is deep work? It is the art of focusing on one particular task for a extended period of time to achieve excellence.
You might be wondering, “Don’t we live in a world full of multitasking?”. Well yes, we do. But look around. You will find that the most successful people in any field are those, who do one specific task which excellent effort and perfection.
The people who do deep work are rewarded by the world heavily. There is a book named Deep Work by Cal Newport as shown in the picture. You might want to read this and get insights about the same.
7. Personal Finance

Having money is not everything in life, but it is something. Being secure about your finance and future, helps you to focus on things that you actually like and are passionate about.
Instead of doing some meaning less job to earn money and getting your energy drained out in the process is such a waste of life. Instead you should focus on things that actually matter and things that you find meaningful.
To do this, One must start focusing on personal finance from the start of their career. Small things like saving a portion of your income or investing regularly may yield results that are so huge (thanks to the power of compounding) that they may fulfil all your requirements.
Personal Finance may include-
- Saving xx% of your income
- Investing in large cap stocks
- Investing in SIPs and Mutual Funds
- Spending on only those things which help you grow
- Not taking loans so early in your career
Conclusion
I hope I have given an overview of the good habits that you should have in your life to make it better.
Instead of following each and everyone of them right from the beginning, focus on habits that you might like and start a few of them in the start.
Pretty sure, you will start realising their benefits in your life in a couple of months.
